Richard R. Knight, M.D.

Resident Doctor on Staff

Dr. Richard Knight received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas. He attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, graduating with his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1978. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 1981 and became board certified in pediatrics. After 5 years in pediatric practice he made a change and began the practice of emergency medicine, serving as a department medical director and a local EMS medical director in Arkansas. From 1996-2003 he served with a nonprofit disaster relief ministry, teaching and training EMTs and Paramedics in Michigan and in Texas. Since 2006 he has served as the campus physician at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he operates their campus health clinic and teaches in the Scarborough College.

Utilizing what he has learned in a multifaceted career in medicine, Dr. Knight has a desire to practice and promote health and wellness in his patients. He was the initial physician with Diet Solution Centers and recently returned in November 2016 to assist their clients with their wellness goals.

Dr. Knight has been married to his wife, Lennie B, since 1973. They have 6 children and 10 grandchildren thus far. They love spoiling their grandchildren and enjoy music, missions, and are active in their local church where Dr. Knight also serves as their Minister of Music.
